Magical Tails Unfold

An hour later they reached land. Unknown to them, there were two people watching them. "I got an idea. Stay right here for a moment," said Nicole to Sherrie. She turned into a cute little kitten and walked out where they could see her.

"Awww, it's a kitten. It's so cute!" Said Kurai. Uh... what was a cat doing way out here. Unless it was a decoy! The cat meowed and ran into the trees. "Wait for me!" Kurai chased after it.

"No Kurai! It's a trap!" Erza warned.

Silvie had just landed with Natsu, transforming back when Kurai went running.

"Oh shit!" Silvie cried out.

"KURAI!" Gray yelled, running after her. "STOP!"

Everyone began to run after the woman.

As she rounded a tree Sherrie grabbed her by the arm. "You're coming with me little princess," she told Kurai.

"AH!" Kurai yelled in terror.

"Oh no! She's in danger!" Lucy cried out. They rounded the bend and saw a woman had grabbed Kurai. Another woman was emerging as the kitten turned into a woman with sky blue hair.

"We'll be taking Kurai now." Nicole turned to Gray. "Oh, and Gray, Lyon sends his best regards." What! Lyon was behind this?

"Lyon!?" Gray gasped.

"A shapeshifter!" Silvie gasped.

Natsu clenched his fists. He knew that seagull wasn't good news. That seagull was the sky blue haired woman. "Damn!" he hissed.

"Let her go!" Silvie yelled.

Nicole turned into a tiger and growled at the group. "One step and your friend here regrets it. And Kurai come with us or we'll have to hurt your friends."

"Okay," Kurai nodded tears in her eyes. She turned to Gray. "I'm sorry Gray, I have to. I don't want any of you getting hurt because of me." The woman turned into a horse and Kurai got on her back and Nicole galloped off.

"NO!" Lucy cried.

"You're not getting passed me," said Sherrie.

"Natsu!" Silvie then transformed back into a dragon and blew fire into his face, on the main aspect he would eat her fire.

"What the..." Sherrie started, getting distracted.

"Now's our chance!" Gray announced.

"Requip!" Erza yelled.

The horse stopped as a floating cat was in the way. "You're not taking her!" Happy cried.

"No! Don't Happy!" Kurai cried.

"Out of the way cat!" Nicole demanded.

"No!" Happy cried. But then a shadow appeared behind Happy. It was Lyon himself!
"I'm all fired up now!" Natsu cried out. He attacked Sherrie with his fire.

"AHHHHHHH!" Sherrie screamed as she was attacked with fire and ice, plus a few swords.

Lucy stood back, shocked. With Silvie and Natsu teaming up like that, one would think those two should be partners.

Lyon grabbed the cat's tail. "You're in the way," he said as he swung the cat by the tail and then let go, sending the cat into the bushes. Lyon looked at the girl. "You're my perfect bait for my trap. Nothing bad will happen to you, that I promise. Nicole will see to that. I want your boyfriend."

"My boyfriend? How did you know I love him, even though I don't know if he feels the same?" Kurai asked.

"Because you just told him," said Nicole.

"Uh..." Kurai blushed realizing what she just said.

"I'll take it from here. Give Gray this note. It has my demands on it, he work for me or Kurai dies," said Lyon to Nicole.

"Got it, Lyon!" Nicole slid Kurai into Lyon's arms and took the note before heading back the way she came.
"Ow! Ow!" Sherrie cried before knocking into Silvie sending her flying.

Natsu saw that. "Why you! Now you've made me really angry!" He ran at Sherrie and attacked her.

Sherrie used her water magic to knock Natsu out of the way. "Why the hell am I stuck doing the dirty work!?" she cursed.

Lucy began to fiddle with her keys. She couldn't use Aquarius knowing that she would knock everyone over including the ship and it was their ticket home

Just then Nicole came up as a human, holding a note in her hand. Erza was about to attack her. "Wait! I'm not here to fight. I have a note for Gray, from Lyon with his demands written down.

Everyone stopped fighting to watch Nicole as she walked over to Gray who was probably just in his underwear by now and handed him the ransom note. It said:

Gray,

__Surrender at once and work for me, or I will see to it that Kurai has a very slow and painful death. Come to an ancient ruin deep within the island. You have two days to make up your mind. And come alone or I will kill her.

Lyon

Lucy blinked, not shocked to see the woman wasn't affected by Gray's lack of clothing. And who was Lyon?

"I can't believe it," he breathed. It was Lyon's hand writing. He crumpled the note. "Why's he doing this?!" he demanded as Natsu went over to help Silvie up on her feet.

"You have to ask him," Sherrie announced. "Maybe he wants another fuck toy."

Lucy looked appalled.

"NO!" Gray snapped.

Nicole turned to Sherrie. "I'm not his fuck toy!" She knew the woman was referring to her. "Whatever! I have no more business here." Before leaving she turned to Gray. "Oh and, put some clothes on. You look like a fucking pervert!" Huh? He had removed his clothes again?

"Are you alright?" Natsu asked Silvie as he helped her up.

"I'm not referring to you, you bimbo! He knows who I'm talking about." Sherrie pointed to Gray.

Gray growled. "What do you care how I dress," he sneered. "You're the enemy and if my memory serves me right Lyon does the same. And Kurai is no fuck toy for any one!"

Sherrie gasped. He was right. So this guy was the same guy Lyon spoke about from his childhood.

Silvie looked at her friend. "Yeah, I think so. Wasn't expecting that. Natsu this is good. She's a morpher wizard like me but she can morph better than I can. I can take on objects that fly.

"Ya, well I'm not sticking around. My work here is done. Have fun killing each other." Nicole turned and walked away.

"Damn you Nicole!" Sherrie yelled. "Leaving me with the clean up huh."

"It's none of my business now. See ya!" Nicole turned into a cheetah and raced off.
Kurai was closed in a room. Since she wasn't trying to get away Lyon felt no need to lock her in her room. "Are you scared?" He asked her.

Kurai sat on the bed. "No, I am not scared. I know, Gray will rescue me. I may not know if he loves me but I do know he cares a great deal about me. You'll see. He'll differently save me. By the way, I'm hungry. You got anything to eat?" Wow! That was a change of subject.

"Damn you!" Sherrie shrieked as she turned tail and rushed off, trying with no avail to catching up.

Gray was pissed. They had Kurai, which meant this was a trap and he was the target.

Once helped up, Silvie moved over to Gray. "Gray who is Lyon? From the sounds of things you know him."

Gray lowered his head and began to tell the tale of his master and the real reason why he would strip without thinking. He even told about Lyon and how they were both trained under the same woman until a beast got in the way. The same beast who killed Gray's parents and in the end took his master's life so she could protect him and Lyon.

Lyon looked at her with surprise. "I can get you some food. I'm not that heartless. I just want to get my revenge on Gray who allowed our beloved master die for his carelessness." With that he turned to get some food for the girl.

"Oh, I don't understand that but I should warn you, there is some other group after me and they may attack this place to get to me. Ever heard of the Midnight Flower? They're after me and won't stop until they get me. I don't want you getting hurt," said Kurai, tears in her eyes. Huh? Why was she crying for him? He's her enemy, yet she's worried about him getting hurt.

It was just too bad Kurai had to be dragged into this. Lyon had her kidnapped but all this time he never knew how kind Kurai was. She probably reminded him of his master with her gentleness.
"Let's head to town. That's where our mission is anyway. And we can come up with a plan. You can't just go rushing in without thinking Gray. We all know you're in love with Kurai but that doesn't mean you get yourself killed for her. Kurai wouldn't like that," explained Erza. Huh? They all knew he liked Kurai? His emotions with the way he acted had probably been what tipped them off and made his friends realize the truth.

Lyon stopped and turned to her. "Did you say the Midnight Flower?" he asked. "So are you telling me Gray being your boyfriend isn't because of something you wanted?" Now this was a strange turn of events. He would need to speak with Nicole to know if she knew anything about Kurai before she joined Fairy Tail. "Why would you want to protect me when I just captured you from your new friends?"

Gray hissed, knowing she was right. But his hiss was also for something else too. Why did people assume he loved her. "I don't..."

"Oh please, Gray," Silvie cut him off. "We know can see it. You're always the one to jump at the chance to help her. She's most comfortable around you and Happy. You even had her sleep in your bed, though fully clothed the other day."

Gray hissed again. "Damn..." he muttered.

"Alright, let's go." Erza could see Gray was defeated for the moment.

"Because you're a human being. You're special," said Kurai with a smile on her face. What the heck! What was she grinning about? He kidnapped her shouldn't she be crying and be scared? She was acting like she was on vacation here. What an airhead! Kurai just proved that blonds aren't the only airheads after all.

Just then, Nicole got back. "Lyon, I'm back!" She called out. He could probably hear her calling out to him. She had already turned back into a human.
"Wait! Where's Happy?" Natsu wondered. Everyone stopped. They've have to find him first. "Happy!" Natsu cried out.

"N... Natsu..." The cat moaned, walking out from a bush. He looked injured. He then confirmed this by falling over onto his belly.

"Happy!" Natsu cried, running over to the cat and holding him in his arms.

Lyon gave her a hard look. "What does Gray see in you, I will never know." He then turned away and left the room to see Nicole. He gave her a smile. "Hey there sexy. There's something I need to ask. All the times you were spying on Gray, did you ever hear mention of Midnight Flower?"

"Happy!" Silvie gasped as she too rushed over.

"What's wrong little buddy? What happened!?"

Silvie had a hand rubbing his back to help give him comfort for his 'baby'. Happy was hatched from an egg and Natsu was like the daddy before he was hatched.

"Natsu, I'm sorry. I... I couldn't save Kurai. Lyon... he appeared and took her." Happy passed out. Huh? What! Lyon was the one that injured Happy! This would probably make Gray very angry at Lyon, for hurting Happy.

"How could he do this! Happy's just a cat. It's not right!" Lucy yelled in anger.
"No, but I read about it in a book. It's said the Midnight Flower is a very dark and evil guild. Their goal is control of all of Fiore. They have taken down many guilds. And you know how guilds have this rule not to kill. Well, the Midnight Flower ignores that rule. They've killed in cold blood. They kill anyone who gets in their way. It's their rule not to leave enemies alive." Nicole finished explaining. Woah! And such a dangerous guild was after Kurai?

"Calm down!" Erza replied. "Lyon is just angry that Gray killed his master."

"I did kill her!" Gray snapped. "I got in the way and she had to protect me by taking her life!"

Silvie turned. "Enough! We have a serious situation going on. We took a mission to help the villagers of this island. We are Fairy Tail Wizards. We're not going to wallow in self pity. We're going to gather up our courage and move on. There is more going on than we know."

"Silvie's right," Erza agreed. "Let's get going. We have 2 hours before Gray has to meet up with Lyon alone and we need to figure out what happened to the people."

"That explains a few things," Lyon replied. "Midnight flower is targeting Kurai and it just happened to be that Gray and his friends found her just in time. They are protecting her. And if I didn't know any better I would think she's not a Fairy Tail wizard."

The group went to town to make plans. "As you can see the moon curses us and turns us into monsters. We need you to destroy the moon for us," explained the mayor of the town. That's right! Even though Kurai was taken they still have their mission to carry out after all.

"Silvie, I was wondering," Natsu said ingoring the mayor. "Would you be able to transform into something small enough to fit in Gray's pocket? We think this might be a trap so someone needs to go with Gray. Someone who won't be able to be seen."
There was an explosion suddenly and a scream. "Oh dear! She was right when she said they've come after us," said Nicole. She ran towards the explosion.

Kurai was in a corner and there was this man trying to get to her. He had the symbol of the Midnight Flowers on his arm. "Come with me or I'll have to hurt you!" Now that was low! Even Lyon never used voilance to get what he wanted. And he'd never hit a woman.

Kurai backed away a bit. "No! Go away!"

Silvie looked to her friend. "Well I can transform into anything flies. That includes all forms of flying bugs. Do you think that would work? I mean What would you guys do? He has to go alone?"

Erza looked to the monster man. "We will do what we can. But we should first find out why the moon is purple at night. Everywhere else in the world it's normal color. So there's got to be something on the island making it appear purple."

"Ice Make darts!" Lyon shouted, suddenly as sharp ice objects came flying out of his one hand, attacking the guild member. He had ran after Nicole to find out what was going on. "And you're invading my space. Now get lost you scum bag!" Lyon gave the man a hard look, he didn't care if the man was bleeding. "Nicole get her out of here to some place. I will not have my plans be ruined by the likes of this jackass."

"No, don't get hurt because of me," Kurai cried. She was crying for him again. Why was she doing that?

"Come on! Lyon knows what he's doing. He's not going to get hurt," Nicole told her. She grabbed Kurai and got her out of the room.

The man ran trying to get to the two women. He shot dark magic at the two sending them flying. "Ah!" Nicole yelled out, getting hit. Now Lyon was probably mad.

"I've got you," said Kurai. She heaved Nicole to her feet and dragged her out of the room.
The group looked ahead at the temple as Happy was getting treatment for his injuries. "What's with that tower?" Erza asked.

"No one knows. Every time one of us tries to get near it we end up back here," said the mayor.
