Magical Tails Unfold

"Oh, did you tell them the leader of Midnight Flower is Kurai's father yet?" Nicole asked.

"Uh... what!" Lucy yelled. How could that be? Wasn't Kurai's father dead? If that was true that meant her parents that died were really her adoptive parents and never told her the truth.

Gray shook his head. "Yeah, it's true. I happened to enter the room at the very moment he announced it. Kurai knows it too. He's the one who sent her flying while she was trying to protect me and Lyon. Not sure if he knows he did it but he did."

Natsu clenched his fists. As a new thought came to mind. He walked over to Lyon. "You have some apologizing to do. Mainly to Happy, the flying cat!"

Lyon nodded. "His injuries are not as bad as they appear. But I will. And I'm sorry for hurting him."

Natsu gawked surprised as Silvie came over to him and looked at Nicole. "I'm not one to hold grudges but you sure as hell gave me a good bump at the peer. So what sort of things can you morph into?"

"Any animal I want." Nicole turned into a cat and started chasing her tail. "Uh... dizzy." She fell over. Everyone was laughing when they saw that. "Also I must apologize for spying on you Gray."

"Spying on him? Since when?" Lucy asked.

"For two weeks now," said Nicole. What! That meant she'd already knew Gray liked Kurai a long time ago.

"What? Why?" Gray asked, still holding the unconscious woman in his arms.

"Because of me," Lyon said with a regrettable voice. "When the villagers sent for help. I made sure your guild would get the message and I wanted to make sure the mission fell into your hands, which is how we know you are in love with the woman you're holding. Even now we all can see how precious she is to you. You're cuddling her like a mother to an infant, which is why I wanted to have her captured to trick you into going to the ruins where you would witness my triumph. Again I'm sorry."

"No harm was really done," Erza said. "The only harm done is what happened to Kurai and we knew she was at risk."

"We should get back to the village. When Kurai wakes up she'll probably be hungry," said Erza.

"Again? How can that girl eat that much and not gain weight?" Lyon wondered.

"Because she can," said Lucy. Gray lifted Kurai into his arms, bridal style and the group left for town.



A few hours later Kurai woke up at the hotel in the village. Gray was in the room with her. "I'm hungry," Kurai moaned.

Gray smiled. "Your food awaits," he answered, pointing over to a tray of food, which was well sealed to keep the freshness in while she slept waiting to wake. "And we have much to talk about. But you have nothing to worry any longer from Lyon. He's one of us now."

"Thank you Gray." Kurai kissed him on the cheek, went over to the table and begun eating. She poured the juice into her glass. Kurai was behaving like it had been almost all day since she ate anything. Which it probably had. She was taken in the morning and it was now dark out. Now that he realized would Gray tell Kurai how he felt? That kiss on his cheek was probably making him want to tell her and wish she'd kiss him somewhere else other than his cheek.

"Ummm... Kurai..." How was he to start this? "First of all. How do you feel about me?" Yeah, that was a good place to start. Start slow and then slowly drop the bomb shell on her. She had much to learn. The others were elsewhere in the village celebrating with the villagers about their return to their real selves, which Kurai never had a chance to meet.

"You're a great guy and I find it funny how you're always getting undressed. That's why I love you, you're a funny guy and great to be around," Kurai told him outright, not even bothering to hide it, with a huge smile on her face with her eyes closed. She then returned to her food, eating it. She said it! She wasn't even trying to hide her feelings. What an airhead! Then again she was his airhead.

Gray blinked, shocked by this. He went over to her. "Ummm, when you say you love me. What do you mean that? Do you mean you love me by means of a friendship or something more?" He had to know before anything further went on. Because he had his own feelings. He had only known her little over a week but that doesn't always mean anything.

"Oh, what did you mean by Lyon's no longer a problem?" Kurai asked him, jumping away from the topic at hand. Seemed he'd have to take action to get a straight answer from her. She was sitting there sipping her juice through her straw in her cup.

Gray groaned. "Lyon's girlfriend was killed last night by your father and my master who was still alive but trapped as ice used her life force to bring Nicole back to life on the condition he stops his vendetta and turn a new leaf."

Lyon said she loved him...

Gray, with a decision in mind, took her juice and moved it out of the way. Before she could try and say something, he grabbed both sides of her cheeks and pressed his lips to hers.

Kurai gasped into the kiss before wrapping her arms around him, kissing him back. She got up with his lips still on her's and pushed Gray into the chair before sitting on his lap, never once breaking lip contact. How she'd managed all that, he'd probably never know. Seemed Lyon was right! Kurai did love him.

Gray pulled his arms from her cheeks to wrap around her back as he licked her lips, asking for entrance. He had a few girls before but he knew this time he was dealing with an innocent. He had to be extra cautious and make her first times well worth it.

His eyes had turned serious. She needed to know this was a serious matter and it was no time to daydream. He still had much to tell her.

"What?" Kurai's eyes went wide. Tears suddenly sprang to her eyes. "You mean I'm adopted. My last name isn't really Kajama?" She sank down to the floor sobbing with her hands on her face. "No," she moaned. "This... this can't be true. It just can't be." Seemed the news had broken her heart. But she needed to find out. She probably would of found out eventually anyway.

Gray felt bad for her and pulled her into his arms and back on his lap, cuddling her close. "I'm sorry you had to find out this way," he soothed. "But we did find out why Midnight Flower is after you. Look at your foot."

He wanted her to absorb the information but there was still more to be said. And she was going to need training and probably from the master. He wondered if the master knew this about her

Kurai looked at her foot. "Ah! My foot's turning purple!" She yelled. She was weird. That purple mark was her tattoo for Fairy Tail. "What'll I do!" She didn't understand she had magical abilities. She just thought her foot was turning purple and was going to fall off.

Gray had to chuckle. "No, silly. That purple mark is your Fairy Tail tattoo. You're officially part of the guild now because of something that happened when I went to save your life after you were thrown from the ruins." He lightly kissed her head. "You're a Rainbow Sage, a healer. And the spell Gramps put on you has disappeared. You're invisible tattoo was on your foot and now it was made real. All of Fairy Tail sees it now and not just the outsiders."

"What?" She got serious without intending to giving off the hint that she's smarter than what she seems. "Hmm, let's see here." She pulled out a piece of paper. "Giving my size and my colors, I'd say my powers are healing, casting rainbow shields and using rainbows to attack with. By let's say, so many feet," Kurai explained. She showed Gray the math chart she'd laid out. Huh? Not even HE could figure out all those number.

She then blushed realizing what she'd done and took the paper ripping it up and throwing it in the fire place. She then smiled like it hadn't happened, "Wow! Now I get to be a super hero and go around saving people. I wonder what powers I have." What? But didn't she just explain it? What was up with Kurai? Was she just... ACTING like an airhead? But why?
